Great idea, bad implementatinTHE GOOD:
1b) Yet the blade isn’t too high either (distance from edge to back), giving the knife mobility.
2) The hardness of the metal is 55+ HRC (it is said, where is that info on the website?)
3) The blade has a perfect length of 13,5 cm to 14 cm (5,3 1inch to 5.51 inch)
THE BAD:
1) The blade bends despite the hardness of 57 HRC. Definitely a big reason for its cheap feel.
2) The grip is too short. The grip of a cheapo potato peeler I have, (it's in the supermarket for €3) is 2 Millimeter longer!
3) Overall cheap feel namely:
a) angular / sharp edged grip. Doesn't feel comfy at all! Who told them it's ergonomic?
b) part between heel of the blade and the grip is also sharp edged. Doesn't feel trustworthy.
Look further for demi-chef's or prep knife, I would say.

My Go To RoadrunnerI bought this knife one year ago and could not be happier. I have quality forged knives but decided I wanted to try a utility-size stamped blade by Zwilling. I am a rural home cook who spends many hours in the kitchen preparing meals, canning and putting up food from harvesting and fishing. My hands are small so it functions as my utiltiy/chef knife. The blade and handle size and shape as well as the light weight ... all calculate into a very efficient knife for so many of my needs. It is easy to keep sharp. I can use it all day and my hand never tires.

The Zwilling 5.5 inch Prep knife looks just like a mini chef's knife! I use this for the same things I normally use the larger chef's knife for, but when only needing a smaller amount of ingredients. Decided on a stamped knife, because it's lighter than a forged blade, which makes it really easy to pull out and use. Still made with Zwilling special formula steel, and has a full tang for durability. This knife is made to last a lifetime and Zwilling guarantees it.

Sweet Prep KnifeThis handy prep knife is super sharp and takes care of daily cutting needs with ease. Need to cut a sandwich in half, easy. Need to slice fruit for lunch or snacks, or vegetables for salad? This is an extremely popular knife for those tasks when you don't want to pull out a chef's knife.
The Gourmet line is a very good line of stamped knives. They are manufactured under tight controls and precise standards at Zwilling’s factory in Solingen, Germany. They have a full tang, running from the tip to the heel of the handle making these knives sturdy and stable. The comfortable handle is solid without being heavy.
Because the composition of the steel, this prep knife will stay sharp and responsive with every cut. Keep the blade honed, sharpen once or twice a year and you will enjoy it each time you use them. Dishwasher safe, but hand wash to keep it looking new.

great secondary knifeI generally use my Chefs knife for most things but i like the versatility of this smaller one. The blade size is perfect for all my smaller prep needs. I like the offset handle that is good to work with in hand for peeling or directly on the cutting board. The German construction and steel produce a quality sharp blade that is easy to maintain. The three rivet handle is comfortable to use in all situations.

This prep knife is the perfect "in between" knife. It's small enough to handle small fruits and veggies but large enough to cut a large onion, or meats and cheeses. Because it has a stamped blade, not forged, it is light enough to use all day without fatigue. It is made from high carbon German steel and made in Germany so exceptional quality is a given. Love the handle and details!

Great prep knifeThis is a really premium stamped knife. It looks a lot like the Zwilling Pro, and it has been ice-hardened like the Pro, which will help give the Gourmet prep extra durability and sharpness than most stamped knives. A great starter knife; with the prep, it’s a very versatile knife, with the smaller blade, you can still chop and cut with it on a cutting board like it’s a chef knife.

Best knife designI haven't seen a knife that is this size and design before and I don't know why they didn't come up with it before! It is great for all the small jobs in the kitchen like peeling garlic or slicing apples, but unlike a paring knife, this design has knuckle clearance so that hands don't get hit on the cutting board. I would recommend this to everyone!
