Description
This all-purpose Asian-style knife is perfect for all cutting tasks. The relative straight edge from heel to tip supports the “push cut”, one of the most common cutting techniques in Japanese cooking. The versatile santoku is ideal for everything from dicing vegetables and finely chopping herbs, to slicing thin cuts of meat and fish. The blade features small indentations, known as grantons, that prevent food from sticking while cutting.
ZWILLING Gourmet is the go-to knife for home chefs eager for their everyday knife to be exceptional. The knives are precision stamped from a single piece of special formula German steel, resulting in lighter weight knives for maximum maneuverability. Combined with ZWILLING's signature ice-hardening technique, the blades are harder, sharper, and they retain their sharpness longer. The ergonomic, triple-rivet handle with a laser inscribed ZWILLING logo ensures fatigue-free cutting.

Shoddy company with horible customer service. They sent me a knife with a different model number stamped on it from the knife I ordered (and it's different from the model number on the box), yet won't send me a return label. Nor does it match the existing knife I own of the same model. Their "customer service" is awful- I've been waiting for return instructions for almost a week, and it's taken 2 very tedious chat sessions to even get a commitment for that. Fez is much more interested in typing scripts than answering simple questions in a timely manner (such as "When should I receive the label?"). Honestly, this company feels like a big scam with shoddy knock offs. This is not the Zwilling that used to offer quality products.

The Santoku is one of the most used knives in the kitchen and this one is an exceptional value. It is made of German steel in Germany and has been ice-hardened, which means it is sharp, durable and will retain its sharpness longer. The Santoku is perfect for meat, chicken vegetables, and I find that it is the first knife I reach for when I need a knife that can handle many tasks. I love the hollowed out portions on the blade as it creates an air pocket and keeps whatever you are slicing, dicing or cutting, from sticking to the blade.

It chops and cuts! Great size knife! This Santoku knife is well made and exceptional design. Chef knife or Santoku knife is certainly a versatile kitchen knife nowadays. An 8" knife is reasonably a standard knife size to have for every cook but this sturdy 5.5" will do just fine. A very sharp knife great for cutting vegetables, fruits. meat, poultry, and herb. Hollow edge creates a barrier between the food and the blade, preventing food from sticking on the blade. Zwilling Gourmet knife is a light knife that is durable and could stand rusting and corrosion. The single-piece, precision-stamped blade construction is lighter than forged knives, allowing for maximum maneuverability. This knife is dishwasher safe, hand washing is recommended.

Awful quality - buy another brandBuy another brand - poor quality steel
This was purchased as a set with a smaller utility knife. Light use and the entire blade has developed chipping along entire blade. Zwilling returns are difficult to coordinate, 12 weeks to check the knife and slow response times to top it all off, have never had issues with other brands. Buy something else.

This Gourmet Santoku works well cutting veggies in large quantities and making mirepoix for your chicken noodle soup or other dishes. A nice lighter weight and made with the ice-hardened process which assures it will be sharp and durable and also chip and rust free. The hollow edge means food will not stick to the blade. Nice handle for comfort and a good grip.

A great santoku knifeThis is a really nice stamped Santoku. The steel is really durable for a stamped knife since the high carbon stainless steel was ice hardened, helping give the knife a longer and sharper edge than most stamped blades. I like how the indentions help release food off the blade. The handle really contours nicely in my hand as well. A great comparable knife if you like the look of the Zwilling Pro collection, but want a budget friendly price point.

three virtuesThe hollow edge is designed to aid in the release of foods. It really works! the air pockets create just enough of a gap to help foods slide off your knife. This is a very sharp, light weight, durable knife. this will cut lots of produce and herbs easily and cleanly.
Classic three rivet handle which is very comfortable.
Reach for this knife when you have a lot of prep- you will be glad you did!
