The Fresh & Save vacuum lunch boxes are designed to work with the vacuum pump so you can enjoy fresh food on the go. Prepare healthy salads, colorful grain bowls, or delicious soups the evening before or even days in advance. The smart vacuum pump slows down oxidation, so salads stay crisp and green, with the vitamins and flavors are locked in. To reheat, simply place the unsealed extra-light and breakproof containers in the microwave. The handy compartment divider included with the lunch box ensures foods stay separated, keeping them in tip top shape hours and days after they've been packed.
With the Fresh & Save system, you can shop once a week and refrigerate or freeze fresh fruit, vegetables, meat, and fish in our vacuum containers and bags and enjoy the benefits of your own fresh market at home. I really wanted to love them but...
I ordered 2 of these sets in glass and a month after 2 lids broke, one would seal and after an hour release the air. The other just cracked while sealing. I contacted support but didn't hear back from them, It is been 2 months!!!. My previous experience with them was good, I had the same issue (non-working lid) with the previous order and they fixed it right away, this time customer service ignored me. Anyway, Now after most of my lids stopped sealing properly I am giving up on this company.

Cracked Lids not holding seal
The lids cracked after a couple of weeks of use, hand washed lids and only used in refrigerator. It is still under warranty but a hassle to call customer service and wait, explain etc to get replacements.

Practical and well made Zwilling Vacuum Containers
I love the Zwilling Plastic Vacuum Containers. They are well made and much lighter to use everyday compared to the practically same Zwilling Glass Containers. The worst thing about these and all the Zwilling Vacuum Containers is that you cannot securely close the lid without using the Vacuum Pump; and on the rare occasion, even after using the pump the lid will still come off. The only other issue might be that the lids are a pain to clean and dry, but I think any vacuum sealing container could have this issue.

I originally bought one of the Fresh & Save starter sets at a Costco special event, and then wanted another of these large plastic vacuum boxes, which I purchased online along with a glass gratin dish. I use the two large plastic boxes to store my spinach/spring mix in. I am very pleased that the spinach or spring mix keeps very nicely until I finish the whole 16-ounces without having to throw any away! I will say that one of the lids cracked, and I will contact Zwilling to see about a replacement. After washing the lids I am careful how I let them dry, so the rubber seal does not lean against anything.

Weak Link in a Strong Chain
Serious design or manufacturing flaws; inadequate customer support from a company that is otherwise exemplary. Perhaps they are stretched too thin by the Covid crisis, perhaps their sourcing of product in China or their supply chain has been disrupted, but I purchased the pump and a variety of plastic containers a month ago and the container lids keep breaking under the pressure of the vacuum created by the pump. The pump stops normally on the bags, which work wonderfully well, better than FoodSaver, FreshSaver or Waring; the design and engineering of these products seem to be superior to their competitors. And the plastic containers are great in principle (though it would be better if they stacked more comfortably for storage) but either the lids are too weak for the pump or the ones shipped as original equipment and then as warranty replacements came from a defective lot, or the pump itself is somehow off (they were supposed to ship a replacement pump to test this but it's been a month of backorder and no pump yet). In any event the containers are a good idea ill-implemented for now. They lids are also a bear to clean and dry. And the app that is supposed to allow you to scan the lids (a useful idea because the containers are opaque and the glass alternatives are very heavy and of course are made of glass, pyrex) is cumbersome to use and buggy.

A must have light weight add-on.
I bought two Fresh & Save kits at Costco before Christmas. I loved the first set so much I thought I have to have another for our motorhome. It was such a good deal. The containers that came with the sets were glass and I wanted plastic for easier storage of leftovers, etc. in the fridge. They work just as well as the glass and are microwaveable. I can't say enough good stuff about this device. I love that I don't have to have a vacuum device on the counter. This one just fits in a drawer.

Excellent entry into a crowded category
As a chef, I have been using vacuum equipment for many years. For home use, I have been using a different bag manufacturer whose bags look similar. Their vacuum unit is a large pistol grip and works quite well. The big shortcoming was the other manufacturer does not offer containers so when the Zwilling system came out I was sorely tempted. I have a few hundred bags from the other manufacturer so I was curious if they would work with the Zwilling unit. (They do) I purchased the starter set and the containers work extremely well. I have been trying to buy more containers but the borosilicate is out of stock everywhere. I would not use the plastic versions of the containers as plastic will stain over time and will take on odors from certain foods.
Zwilling quality and engineering are first-rate and they stand behind their products. The big test will occur over time. This new product will get a serious workout in my kitchen and I will update this review in six months to see how it holds up.

Tiny pieces....
I LOVE the idea of this product and on most days I LOVE this product.
Originally I bought the glass kit and a lot of bags. I find that I use the containers more than the bags, so lesson learned. I was hoping to use the bags for fresh herbs, etc, but the vacuum ruins the tender herbs.
The first time I used the large glass container, I broke it. It is heavy and my one hand wasn't enough. I went ahead and ordered the plastic set.
The 4th time I used the plastic large container, the lid broke. I would like to purchase a new lid, however, they do not sell them separetely.
I find keeping up with the gray little stopper thingies, is tricky. Not sure why they were designed to come off so easily, but it def. makes me nervous....getting lost, or falling in dishwasher and melting on heating element.
Enough....but, all these reasons is why I cannot give a higher rating.

I'm baffled! If the containers are not leak proof without elastic bands, it means the vacuum seal does not work either. Isn't that the point? Why on earth do I need elastic bands? Do theae dishes truly have an airtight seal?
The elastic bands ensure Fresh & Save Lids are firmly closed after the vacuum seal is released for transportation when placed inside bags, lunch boxes, picnic baskets.

Will a half-gallon, rectangular box of ice cream - 4 by 5 by 7 - fit in this?
Capacity is 2.43 qt, you will have to check the qt size of the ice cream container.
