What should I wear for my engagement photos?
The outfit you choose will help set the mood of your engagement photos. If you do not usually wear maxi dresses, don’t go out and buy one for the shoot. If your fiancé is wearing a pattern, make sure to match the color.
Because we do not typically have much space for photos indoors, we often limit our outdoor engagement sessions to a small area. These are the “must-see photos” that capture the essence of your love for each other. They show you off, dress up your style, and make you look (and feel) like a million bucks.
If you have certain body parts that you dislike or are uncomfortable about, don’t wear clothing that accents them. For example, if you do not like your arms, do not wear sleeveless tops or strapless dresses (this also applies to wedding gowns!). If you do not like your legs, do not wear a short skirt or a short dress. Darker colors such as navy blue or black also look great and create a slimming effect.
If you have certain body parts that you love and are comfortable about, let your fiancé wear whatever looks feel natural and comfortable to you. This includes colors such as black, white, browns, and reds that you love. This also includes fabrics like suede, cotton, and wool that you love. This also includes how you feel about your body at this moment in your relationship. If you love how it looks when you are wearing a dress, let your fiancé wear a pretty print dress. If you love how it feels when you are wearing a suit, let him wear a black dress or a black shirt. Just because you like a particular color doesn’t mean you necessarily have to wear it every day.
If you have certain body parts that you think are beautiful but you do not usually associate with your fiancé, make sure to get in touch with him/her if you have any questions about your photos or your engagement session.
